Addition of a Variable Pressure SEM

SEMTech Solutions announces the addition of a Variable-Pressure Scanning Electron Microscope (VPSEM) to the Analytical Testing Lab Services.

This type of instrument allows the examination of insulating/poorly conducting, uncoated and untreated samples. There is no need to alter your sample by sputtering coating a metal coating on the surface. The specimen chamber operates at a pressure in the range of 25 to 300 Pa, using BSE detection for imaging. EDS analysis may still be performed from Carbon on up the Periodic table. This scope is an excellent tool for porous samples such as bone, biological samples and sensitive polymers.
